CARVED SIGNS

     Carved signs have a classic elegance reminiscent of the hand tooled craftsmanship involved in their original construction. Today most carved signs are carved from HDU (High Density Urethane) which is more dimensionally stable, and will not rot like wood.

     A carved sign with "V-Groove" is made with a router bit the looks like a"V" when looked at from the side. There are bits with different angles of different degrees, and the wider the text is, the deeper the bit routes out the material.

     Carved signs are painted, so their color will last much longer than a sign with vinyl lettering.
